Mavericks is much more practical, and I consider it the last great version of OS X. Mavericks, or OS X 10.9, is Apple’s newest operating system. Your installer runs fine but progress has halted. IMO, using Snow Leopard as a daily driver in 2020 would be very difficult, unless you have a very limited set of needs. Reboot normally and try the installation again - it should work.
